Now stepping out on her own years later, Monét is ready to take on the world. She is breaking through the industry doors without any hesitation while she jumps on the Dead Presidents instrumental. Do not let her looks confuse you, her lyrical skills are that of a rapper who’s been in the game for 15+ years.

On her version of Dead Presidents, she takes us back to old school rap where there’s a story within the lyrics. Monét raps about her past when being a rapper was just a dream to more present matters in her life such as, dealing with guys who don’t practice what they preach. She proves that she can definitely produce some amazing music on this track. This was hilarious, I mean the sheer struggle on his face at that moment when Marshall realizes he has to freestyle. The awkward moment when the host tries to save Mr. Marshall by asking him “Do you want to read from your book?” , and he still can’t even read his poetry straight.
